The Tests & Trials Workshop is an exclusive, in-person collaboration between model Elsie Abang and Shubila K Photography, created to demystify the Canadian modelling industry.

Having navigated the industry since 2019, Elsie designed this workshop to give aspiring models the real-world knowledge, clarity, and confidence they need to succeed. Beyond an open Q&A session, participants take part in a guided posing and portfolio shoot with Shubila K—ensuring every attendee walks away with agency-ready images!

"Tests and Trials" is a play on words that carries a dual meaning.



On one hand, "tests and trials" speaks to the struggles, challenges, and hardships every model faces. Through open conversations and real stories from industry-experienced models, participants gain honest insight and guidance—helping them avoid common pitfalls and navigate the industry with confidence.


On the other hand, "tests and trials" represents a practical "trial run" at modelling and an opportunity to experience a true "test shoot"—an essential milestone for building a professional portfolio.
